Burkina Faso
All former ministers who served under the regime of ousted former president Blaise Compaoré were summoned by the Burkina Faso national police service on Tuesday.
They stand accused of complicity in the short- lived coup that led to the death of 30 people between 30th and 31st October 2014.
It is also alleged that they wanted to change Burkina Faso’s constitution in 2014. Other charges murder, causing destruction and injury and assassination attempts.
Compaore has been indicted for his alleged involvement in the assassination of President Thomas Sankara who was killed on October 15, 1987 during a coup that brought him to power.
He was charged with “murder”, “assassination” and “corpse concealment” as part of the open inquiry in March 2015 by the Burkina Faso transition authorities.
